Meet Your Dedicated Practitioner
Jenny Carter, PMHNP
Hi, there! I'm Jenny Carter, and I'm the owner & founder of Personal Peace Psychiatric Solutions PLLC.
As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 25 years of experience, I specialize in medication management for mental health across the lifespan. Common mental health areas I treat include ADHD, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and bipolar disorder.
As a child, I always knew I wanted to be a nurse. I started my nursing career while still in high school at the age of 17 working as a nursing assistant in a nursing home. I continued as a nursing assistant in a large hospital in Jackson, TN while in college obtaining my nursing degree.

I have over 26 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and have spent most of that time working in the Emergency Department of a large hospital and as a flight nurse on a medical helicopter.

My professional experience has allowed me to care for people of all ages and all medical and psychiatric conditions, often in emergency situations.
During my career I have also completed my Advanced Emergency Medical Technician certification (AEMT) and become a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN). In 2023, I completed my internship at a busy community mental health center and graduated with my Master of Nursing (MSN) Degree from Maryville University of St. Louis.
My unique professional experience along with personal life experience has reinforced my belief that the brain should be cared for just like any of our other bodily organs, without negative stigma. Whether you are dealing with a lifelong mental health illness, a short-term stressor, or are the parent of a child having trouble in school, I am passionate about treating you as the unique person you are. During each session, we'll talk about your individual signs and symptoms and treatment will be tailored to you, not to your diagnosis.
I was born in Jackson and continue to live here with my two busy teenage children and our four-legged stress reliever, our dog, Teddy. When not working or attending band and color guard competitions, I enjoy reading a good book, playing games with family, and traveling. Usually to somewhere with sand and sunshine!
